چکیده

This study aimed to assess the phytoremediation potential of Ricinus communis L. for heavy metals remediation via rhizospheric bacterial activities distillery wastewater detoxification and management. Results revealed that contained high levels other physico-chemical pollution parameters could cause environmental aquatic toxicity. The identified bacterium produced several plant growth-promoting compounds including siderophores, ligninolytic enzymes, indole acetic acid resulted in nutrient enhancement improved mineralization plants during stress conditions. bioconcentration factor (BCF) all examined were > 1, which showed these are accumulating root, shoot, leaves Most stablised roots but Pb, Cd Zn translocated more shoorts (TC>1). ability grow metals-containing reduce organic contaminants suggests it can be used provide an effective treatment wastewater. use is eco-friendly tool reduction organometallic contamination protecting agricultural land.

Evaluation of Ricinus communis L. for the Phytoremediation of Polluted Soil with Organochlorine Pesticides

Phytoremediation is an attractive alternative to conventional treatments of soil due to advantages such as low cost, large application areas, and the possibility of in situ treatment. This study presents the assessment of phytoremediation processes conducted under controlled experimental conditions to evaluate the ability of Ricinus communis L., tropical plant species, to promote the degradatio...

Synthase Gene from Ricinus communis L

1 L-myo-Inositol-1-phosphate synthase (EC 5.5.1.4, MIPS), an evolutionarily conserved enzyme protein, catalyzes the conversion of D-glucose-6-phosphate into 1 L-myo-inositol-1-phosphate (MIP), which is the fi rst and rate-limiting step in the biosynthesis of all inositol-containing compounds (Ray Chaudhuri et al., 1997; Abid et al., 2009). MIPS is found in diverse organisms, both eukaryotic and...

Antinociceptive activity of Ricinus communis L. leaves.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the antinociceptive activity of the methanol extract of Ricinus communis leaves (MRCL). METHODS Antinociceptive activity was evaluated using acetic acid induced writhing test, formalin induced paw licking and tail immersion method in mice at doses of 100, 125 and 150 mg/kg bw. RESULTS The results indicated that MRCL exhibited considerable antinociceptive activity again...

The phytoremediation potential of bioenergy crop Ricinus communis for DDTs and cadmium co-contaminated soil.

Cadmium (Cd) and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) or its metabolite residues are frequently detected in agricultural soils and food, posing a threat to human health. The objective of this study was to compare the ability of 23 genotypes of Ricinus communis in mobilizing and uptake of Cd and DDTs (p,p'-DDT, o,p'-DDT, p,p'-DDD and p,p'-DDE) in the co-contaminated soil. The plant genotypes va...
